Bi-weekly Paycheck overview

Writer's picture: Pattie PPattie P

So H gets paid twice a month - around about the 11th & 26th, give or take a day (so today is payday). I've configured his check already for paying the bulk of his business bills at the end of the month, a small savings for him (spending money or however he wants to do with it) & a few house bills that take place at the end of the month.

Do you know, probably 4 months ago..I would highly anticipate getting paid because I wanted to 'spend' the money..not spend in a crazy way..shopping or other.. (I'm not a big shopper (other than maybe amazon); but just like overly 'when we getting paid'..blah blah blah.. But NOW, I am excited to get paid to divvy up the monies, pay & stay up to date on bills and put money into savings.. gosh do i LOVE to watch it grow!! It's definitely just a different feeling.. a baby step toward financial freedom. I'm already feeling freedom from some debt and getting debt paid off.

Start small. I have been tweaking #thebudgetmom method since I started in October. Start tracking now.. watch your every dollar. I have savings in #Ally (an on-line bank that allows me to have 'buckets') I added a new bucket this week for car maintenance because I'm sure my jeep will need tires this year. I do automatic transfers into #Ally & then tell the app how to divvy up money into the different buckets: car maintenance, house (for big purchases - lawn mower, etc); Grace's birthday & Vacation (little in there now, because I don't see a big vacation this year).

It's just an amazing feeling to get paid & not stress that an hour later there is no money left.. I've done that for too long!

DO it now.. need help.. ?? Watch youtube videos, read up on the different methods.. most importantly.. BREATHE!

Happy Saturday!
