So, I spent Sunday reviewing our #'s in January's budget, so I can start my clean slate in February... again, using #TheBudgetMom method.. I'm not as good as her, I don't get down to a $0 budget.. but it's a work in progress. (WIP)
I need to cut my grocery bill - which I feel can be successful in February..
January - $411.34 in Groceries (2 adults & a #gtube dependant child, so doesn't really eat alot by mouth) -but worse than than $305.32 in Misc/Household items - UGH! I have it all written down, yes there are 2 Roku's that are one time purchases, but that's $75 (& we used a $25 Amazon card toward the purchase), so where is the other $200 from.. hmm.. this why I'm following this method - reduce expenses on frivolous items & most importantly to be AWARE of where our hard-worked money is going. I would rather spend $200 additional on savings for a trip ..than on miscellanous household.
And then I got BJ's at $114.33 for the month & Amazon Subscribe & Save $45.82 I think we need to combine those two in February..either/or. Of course it's finding the best cost savings for the things we purchase.
One thing I'm going to do different in February, is to use CASH ONLY for groceries.. it is way to easy to swipe my debit card when I'm going in for 3 things that turn into 7, because "that's a good deal". We certainly have enough grcoeries to the last the first full week of February, going into the second week, so no money spent there.. I'll pull $50 from my first paycheck, put it in my grocery envelope & roll over it until I need it. #cashenvelopes
Talk to me.. how did your January budgeting go?? What are you going to do different in February!
