Savings.. get real with #'s

Okay, one month down! Here are my stats - I have a few "savings" accounts..for different reasons - I started an Emergency Fund back in November, I'm trying to fund that with more money, but consistently put $10 in it weekly - it's up to $174.

Monthly, we started to deposit all our loose change into a savings - the first month it was $44 (which is great), but end of January it was only $7.82..I say "only" but it's not really 'only'.. it's better than nothing.. as of end of January we have $75.41.

My Christmas 2020 fund is already at $70.00. I'm putting $10/weekly aside until Black Friday - estimating about $470 when it's all done. My husband will do the same, but he got a late start.

I have another personal savings of $114., I try to keep $25 in that weekly, but if i think i need it this is the first place I transfer from to get it. Again the mental part of savings is, once it's out of my check and if I "think" I need it, more than half the time (knowing that it takes 3 business days to get back into my regular checking account - its an onine account), the thought of 'thinking' i need it, really i don't.. Mind Games! :)

And then of course, my WORD Savings Challenge for January was DREAM.. so that's $41 in cash savings in an envelope! The Budget Mom is doing a 2020 Challenge Savings monthly.. you can get purchase it here..download to your computer & then like I do print it out monthly.. no obligation to do it just like she is offering - I'm actually doing a WORD a month just to stay focused on my savings challenge. My word for February is PLAN,which will net me $43. (Again it's not alot..but it's an "additional" to what I'm already doing!)

I feel peace of mind to be saving.. no matter how small or how big it is.. when you add it all up..it's better than saving $0 monthly. And when certain accounts get $200 or more, than I will transfer that money to a high interest account.

Here's my envelope for my February word.
