2022: Another year to say good-bye and another opportunity to say hello, as the quote says a blank slate is in front of us.. 'make each page count'. I think that's what you say as you get older, as you being 'present' is more important as we never know when it is our time to be someplace else.

For me,2022 was a good year. We have had the best 'tribe' with and for Grace. From the start of the day with someone helping Grace get ready for school to family dinners on Friday night.. we didn't know how much Grace really loves to go out to eat. We had a friend/skills trainer in the beginning of 2022 hang out with Grace friday nights and Gary & I were able to get dinner out or do errands together. That's always nice. But when that person had another commitment, we decided Friday night's would be a time for family fun 'dine-outs' and it went well and we are still doing it. We have even incorporated friends and fun holiday things in the last month or so. Grace looks forward to it and so do we.

As we start another year, I pray that Grace continues to eat well and can gain weight. She is eating like a champ.. definitely likes savory vs. sweet. And still loving her chips!

I pray and am hopeful that she or we can get her belly G.I. issues better controlled. It is certainly something that I fear when taking her somewhere fun, that she's going to have a blow-out. Although I think some of it is that she is so excited for something new and fun, that she gets nervous/excited and it causes a very unplanned BM. :(

All in all, I can honestly say that 2022 was a good year.. aren't they all when we are on this side of the dirt??

I started a new job I love in early January 2022.. I am making more money than ever and feel much more appreciated than I ever did. Best decision ever !!

Wishing all of you a Happy & Healthy New Year.. stay positive & be good to yourself.. and each other!

love,

pattie

Feeling powerless.. @3:00 a.m.

I'll start by saying I know that WE were chosen to be Grace's parents; it has made us stronger, and we've learned a lot from her. When she was little, she was in the hospital frequently for infection
