Cafeteria Food

Remember when you were in school, it was a special treat to get lunch in the cafeteria. I remember my dad used to leave us kids out, a quarter, dime & a nickel every Friday - yes lunch was .40 cents back then. Of course, unbeknown to my parents, we would take the money and go to the corner penny candy store.. Trippy's!! Who didn't love candy before school? (Lol) fond memories of sure.

So, Grace has been going to the cafeteria.. it started with the class nurse going for a walk with her one day to 'show' her the cafeteria.. they picked out different food items..for Grace to try and what they needed to bring back to the classroom. Well, as you may/may not know.. since Covid, schools allow for free lunches to all students (who knows how long that will last) & with Grace's love of going to the cafeteria and now more love of picking out her own food..she goes there daily and is trying a great bunch of food.

Ms. Erin sends a note home daily - today was Cheeseburger and FF (yes, Grace had some of the cheeseburger); last week it was pancake and a few bites of sausage.. (she never wants to eat pancakes when we are out); but I also think it's the experience of going down to the cafeteria.

I try and ask her about it daily and she smiles ear to ear... it's soo cool!

Keep on eating little one.. keeping on eating!!

:)

I'll start by saying I know that WE were chosen to be Grace's parents; it has made us stronger, and we've learned a lot from her. When she was little, she was in the hospital frequently for infection
