Finally hit us! #Covid

It's here. We had a doctor's appointment follow-up for Grace last week in RI & he said to us, 'how's Covid with you all?'. We knocked on wood and said, so far so good! Dr. Brown - I think you jinxed us!! (The doctor's appointment went really well.. see you in a YEAR!)

Got the call Tuesday from Grace's school that she had a high temp and tested positive for Covid! :( ughhhh.. to me, it's not worth trying to figure out how she got it, more importantly to make sure she's home with us and stays healthy. My husband and I have definitely been talking about getting Grace vaccinated, but it's definitely a decision we hadn't taken yet as we really wanted to still think it over.

By today (Thursday), both my husband & I have tested positive.. of course, how could we not, we live in the same house and our comforting her as best we can. The days have definitely gone slowwwwer than if we were working. The good thing is that you wouldn't think Grace is even sick to look at her, she really just has a high fever. But she is as rambuctios as any other day. I on the other hand, feel like I have no energy and have gone from a headache and sore throat to stuffed nose and tight chested. :( Worse than all this, is just being home all day and not at work.

It's so hard to entertain Grace when she's not feeling well and we aren't either. Today was 68 degrees outside, so per her request I serenaded her on the swing with Rudolph! I'm hoping we can get some answers about her going back to school with a visor, a negative test and no fever next week. I think DESE (Dept of Education for the state) needs to take special needs kids routines and circumstances in consideration of returning to school. I haven't heard any answers to my question about Grace returning with a visor (vs. mask!); Guess I'll have to call them myself.

ahhh.. If Covid hasn't hit your home yet. be thankful! (It is probably more like a bad cold, but still the inconvience of it is always the harder part!)

Thanks for reading & keeping up with me!
