Hi, all - yes i've been working my 35 hours a week through the pandemic (and am grateful for a job, when so many are losing there's and have to start over), but I have been working with some flexibility - 8-2, with an hour work from home. Today is the day, we are back open to the public so our schedule is back to 8:30-4:30, with an hour for lunch. Think I'll be getting my 45 min walk in at lunch time, since the plan is no "hanging out in the break room."
I love my job - i don't always love the drama that comes along with it (but who's job doesn't have a little drama?) It's what makes us stronger, right! Or maybe drinking that extra cup of coffee is what makes me stronger! Anyway, the only stress that comes along with going back to work full-time is childcare.
We are very lucky to have up to 4 childcare providers right at this moment. Our two year person that Grace loves & they have an awesome relationship does the morning to early afternoon shift, and then we just hired two more individuals to take the afternoon shift - they are Wonderful - one of the young women was someone that was supposed to work with Grace almost three years ago and it just didn't work out with our schedules, so we are very happy she's with us now - at least for the Summer. Her friend, who is a high school teacher - she's fantastic as well. And then we have someone we had hired a few months ago to help - because she is studying for her masters - she's with us one morning a week. All these young women are SOOO FANTASTIC with Grace - they're energetic, they're positive and they don't mind doing and helping Grace to be the best she can be. But... we have to pay them, right? We only get 11.5 hours in the week for childcare from the state and we are looking at covering approximately 26-30 hours a week, at $15/hour.. you can figure that out yourselves.
I'm glad I found #thebudgetmom, I've said it before - creative budgeting for the next three months is going to have to take place as well as #creativeschedules; #moreincome, and #figuringitout - these are the things that stress me out - work stuff is easy, as long as we remember that only takes up 35 (40 hours a week).. :)
Keep up the positivity!
