Hey there.. I started the month with a "Eat from Freezer/Pantry" Month.. I have gone grocery shopping for a 'few things' to help with different recipes and have consistently eaten from our pantry/freezer. I tell you this, my husband said yesterday "when did you become the crockpot lady".. I've always used the crockpot..but this month, I have used it weekly for at least one recipe. It's convienent and easy clean up in the dishwasher.
Last week I made a beef stroganoff with steak tips and it was delicious.. will definitely put that on my rotation monthly menu. (It's nice to keep a monthly idea of recipes, to go back and see what we have liked or disliked to make again.)
I plan my weekly meals and I stick to them. So far, mid month check in we've spent $160 in groceries.. I usually put aside $60/week.. so we are doing great with our grocery bill. This week is school vacation and we had to get a few extra snacks for Grace being home all day..and certainly I want our childcare workers to have something too.. but we are sticking to our meal plan..and honestly I like doing it. Trying new recipes I find through youtube (#Mandyinthemaking), she has some great dinner ideas without being pasta.
Tonight's menu: leftovers :) Whatever it is you're doing to help yourself save a few dollars monthly (meal planning, #tracking; keep it up!)
Thanks for reading!
