There are people that come & go in your life.. some leave footprints and stay! Since my parents died, my dad in 2016 and then my mom in 2017 - it's been a little lonely in our world. We'd go visit my parents weekly, sometimes a few times a week - check in .. bringing them treats we found along our way.. My dad would get on the floor and play with Grace or just have her sit on his lap and bite on his oxygen tube (lol).. I'm sad there not hear to see Grace grow and become the little minion she is.. BUT, we have a tribe! We have very close friends, who's daughter cares for Grace and has definitely become Grace's "person".. Jenna & Grace have a special bond/relationship.. so much that Jenna is going to college inspired by Grace to be a nurse. It helps that Jenna paints her nails pretty colors! All kidding aside, our tribe is Jenna, her parents & our good friend, Pam - who too understands how much work, tears and dedication we put into raising a child with special needs - there are alot of bad days (for Grace it surronds her pooping issues) but there are ALOT of Good days -HUGS..lots of them, SECRETS.. as long as they include Uncle George & Jenna.. and KISSES (soft on our cheeks).
We couldn't do her actual Birthday Celebration, last night - August 3, 2020 withour her tribe present. These people and her new caretaker, Callie - were instrumental in celebrating Grace last night. I love her tribe... and MINE!
