That's right.. today, I can start the hashtag #over55, instead of the usual over50! entering my 56th year of life feeling blessed & grateful.
I've been a horrible blogger this year and I'm going to change that going into the new year. If you've been with me for awhile, you know that I start every new year on my birthday.
So today, I'm starting 2026 at 221 lbs! I've lost 26 lbs since starting Zepbound end of May, with most of that in the last 3 months; so I'm a slow responder but that's okay I'll take it. Currently, I am on 12.5 mg Z, and with my health insurance, I probably won't be able to afford it come January. However, I did get a 3-month order with a Black Friday deal; now, here's a deal that is going to stick around. So, go check them out.
For me, #glp1 has worked well for me with not many side effects (constipation) but I've always had that GI issue so I don't really count it. I'm happily losing, feeling full and mostly eat the same things .. I'm trying & need to continue to work on more protein in the next month and fiber. I need to get back to meal planning, as that usually helps me stick to my plan of more protein, less carbs.
My big goals for myself in this next year of my life are:
-Getting back to Zumba (I did do a tap class weekly this last year and although I've loved it, it's definitely a bit expensive and it's hard to go when the class doesn't start til 7p.m.). I did zumba a few years back and really enjoyed it..and it's a good exercise to help with my WL efforts.
-Continue my side hustles and use most of those earnings to pay credit cards down.. I want to pay off at least three credit cards, totaling $5,000, and pay off my car loan in 2026.
-Creative journaling and planning - I have tons of stickers and need to get back into this relaxing hobby..for me I've really enjoyed creative planning and I need to get back to it.
My husband got me a stand-up desk for Christmas/Birthday..and I will put my computers on it and use my regular desk for more creative planning/journaling.
I've done a great job journaling in general & my WL journey..and I will continue with that.
New adventures, reading more, more movies, more family walks & hikes..mini vacation(s), spending time with good friends & taking care and protecting my peace at all costs!
I've learned a few valuable lessons this year, which taught me to really take care of ME.. I need to focus my efforts on my 4 walls and my family; as well as myself.
Rest, Renew, Refresh; while keeping myself grounded!
Thanks for sharing my journey with me!
