Well, not really..because my new job (or one of them) is a set schedule..but it feels more leisurely than previously.. and who doesn't crave leisure when you're working..
I began my new "part-time", it's 25 hours a week with benefits (can't go wrong!) a week ago today and it's going well. It's in the same industry as I was doing before just a different municipality, so it is very familiar work. My first day I was greeted with a plumber from my hometown, talk about great comfort level; and my first meeting (the next night, was someone from my previous job as well). So, I already feel as I've always been there and am fitting in fine. And guess what, I have no worries.. from my good friend's mom..the best advice yesterday, "this is not your ship and you are not the captain!" So many times we join or change jobs and want to know so many answers.. "why do you do it this way?", "i don't understand, when you can do it this way".. Yes, I guess it sounds like a 'control' thing.. I tend to ask alot of questions and wonder why do it this way when this way sounds easier. But you know what.. I am not in control of this ship! My ship is MYSELF.. be in a position where I just go to 'work', do my best and leave.. the rest of the headaches is really someone else's problem.
I also started working part-time for a friend's business.. and that is going well as well..except this week I didn't go in on Monday/Tuesday, I'm not sure if that will change in the near future (hard to just go there for an hour); however I go back today for 3 hours, Wednesday through Friday.. I want to make sure that's ample time to learn the job. (it's all a learning curve, and I just want to feel comfortable). But that is a great little part-time job.. I wish was full-time. It's a casual atmosphere.. people go in, are friendly, super nice & just do their job.. no bullshit or drama.
I like to stay busy.. so I still get up early, feed Grace, take Max out.. throw in a load of laundry, do my budgeting stuff and all that.. but then I also am taking time for myself.. (budgeting/planning are my hobbies).. and in the last few weeks I have started to create a new way of life for myself.. LESS stress, especially in a work environment.. (Life is wayyyy too short to be stressed at your place of work!)
Peace out.. thanks for stopping in!
