Yea, Grace is back in school! I'm not the only one who loves when our children go back to school. I watch YouTube videos (budgeting, grocery haul and other stuff) and I heard a parent of a 'typical' child say that her family thrives on routine; I couldn't agree more.
Grace definitely thrives on routine and you know what.. SO DO I! I'm up at 5am, no matter what time I go to bed. I'm in my office, putting together my own budgeting videos for my channel, GetPersonalwithPattie; or working my side gig of minutes. Then I get Grace's things ready for school..and something new is going to school with her this year.. and hopefully it'll continue...
A LUNCHBOX!!! Yes, I'm screaming.. Grace usually has a tube feed at school for lunch, however in the last month or so, we've been skipping that tube feed for lunch & giving her food.. and guess what she's eating/swallowing and doing it consistently. So, I figured for the first two weeks of school (because we are seeing her nutritionist in mid September, who may put a stop to this), we would send in a lunchbox with a thermos (imagine!) of food.
Two days in.. she's taken her Cup o Noodles and some hamburg (which she didn't love). So tomorrow back to cup o noodles and one chicken nugget. It's okay to live on Cup O' Noodles isn't?? I remember kids growing up on only eating chicken nuggets and pizza - at least this is higher in calories.. (a little bit, maybe)
So good things are already happening in the school year. We are glad to be back and routine is going well. We are blessed with a friend, who helps Grace get up and get ready for school. Brushing teeth, brushing her hair, getting dressed, taking her meds, and hitting the bus!
