A year ago in March, I went to a PETS (President Elect Training for Rotary Presidents) in Framingham. It's a 2 night event that teaches presidents how to really motivate our clubs, stay focused on working to enhance our community & fundraise.. the best part is getting to meet people from all over the place (world is some cases).
This year, (from July '20-June '21) will be my last year as President. It's a great opportunity, and I love it.. I don't even mind that it's time consuming at times.. but honestly, it's time to give someone else an opportunity. I will stay on and continue to help however I can.
My big reason for this post, is to show you all these side-by-sides. Having Weight Loss Surgery is a definite win.. but it's also a life commitment of a 'work in progress'.. like anything right? It's definitely not an easy fix. And certainly how others see me & my progress is most definitely not the way I always see myself.
Can I see the numbers on the scale that clearly says I've lost 60 lbs to date? YES
Can I feel the very baggy pants on my butt? YES
Can I even see the differences in pictures? Absoluetly.
But sometimes, even with all of that.. I still see a belly and feel it. SO..even the emotional part of losing weight is a 'work in progress'..
I am ready to show you all my side to side pictures.. because last year when I was at PETS, i was already thinking about doing surgery & took these pictures in a full length mirror there because I knew I was going back this year & would do the same. (As life would happen, my hotel room was on the 1st floor this year, with no full length mirror! The gaul! LOL).. but I still was able to capture a few side by sides. The only thing is you can't see my skinny legs (they were never really big to begin with..) but they are skinny! :)
My year mark is June 27th.. I hope to be in ONEDERLAND by then (under 200 lbs)..
WORK IN PROGRESS, for sure!
